Effective Date: July 1, 2026
This End User License Agreement ("EULA" or "Agreement") is a binding agreement between you and Kindred ("Kindred," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the Kindred mobile application and related services (the "App"). Kindred connects people for anonymous, prompt-guided voice conversations and optional ongoing text chat.
Kindred relies on content created and shared by its users, including live voice conversations, text messages, and chosen nicknames and avatars ("User Content"). Because the App allows real-time interaction with other people, we maintain strict standards for behavior and content. Please read this Agreement carefully. By tapping "I Agree," creating an account, or using the App, you accept all of the terms below.
Kindred has zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive, harassing, hateful, threatening, or predatory users.
There is no warning quota and no "second chance" for serious violations. Engaging in such behavior — even once — may result in the immediate removal of your content and the permanent termination of your account, at our sole discretion and without refund.
By using Kindred, you agree that you will not create, speak, send, transmit, or otherwise contribute any User Content that is objectionable, and that you will not behave abusively toward any other user. You acknowledge that other users are real people and that you are responsible for how you treat them.
You agree that you will not, through voice, text, nickname, avatar, or any other means:
Kindred is built on real-time interaction, so there are three kinds of User Content you are responsible for:
You are solely responsible for all User Content you provide and for the consequences of providing it. You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant Kindred a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, display, and review that content as necessary to operate the App, enforce this Agreement, comply with the law, and keep users safe.
If another user behaves abusively or shares objectionable content, you can report them directly in the App. After any conversation, and from the post-session review screen, a Report option lets you flag the user and select a reason — including harassment, hate speech, sexual content, spam, or impersonation — and add details. You may also choose to block the user at the same time.
We encourage you to report anything that violates this Agreement. Reports are confidential, and the user you report is not told who reported them.
You may block any user at any time — during the report flow or afterward. Blocking is privacy-preserving: the blocked user is never notified and is simply never matched or connected with you again. Any existing connection or chat between you and a blocked user is removed from your view; the underlying record may be archived for a limited period so we can investigate abuse and enforce this Agreement.
We review every report of objectionable content or abusive behavior and act on it within 24 hours — removing the offending content and ejecting (suspending or permanently banning) the user who provided it when a violation is found.
Our enforcement combines several layers:
Depending on the severity and frequency of a violation, we may issue a warning, temporarily suspend an account, or permanently ban it. Serious violations — including threats, hate speech, sexual harassment, or content involving minors — result in immediate permanent termination. You may appeal a moderation decision by contacting support@chatkindred.com.
Kindred filters and moderates objectionable content through a combination of measures: the in-app reporting tools described above, automated account-level moderation that escalates accounts based on reports and blocks, AI-assisted review of report evidence, report weighting to resist abuse, blocking, and manual human review. We may add, change, or remove specific filtering and detection measures over time as we work to keep the community safe. No system is perfect; we cannot guarantee that you will never encounter objectionable content, but we are committed to acting quickly when it is reported.
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, Kindred grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download and use the App on Apple devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, rent, lease, sell, or distribute the App or any part of it, except as permitted by applicable law. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Kindred.
This Agreement supplements and incorporates by reference our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. The Terms of Service govern your overall use of the App; the Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data. If there is a direct conflict between this Agreement and the Terms of Service specifically regarding objectionable content, abusive conduct, or enforcement, this Agreement controls.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available." Despite our moderation efforts, we cannot guarantee that other users will comply with this Agreement or that every conversation will be safe, positive, or free of objectionable content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Kindred is not liable for the conduct of, or content provided by, any user. The disclaimers and limitations of liability set out in our Terms of Service apply to this Agreement.
We may update this Agreement from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes and, where appropriate, ask you to accept the updated Agreement. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Agreement.
